Delhi police detained 30 Tibetans on Tuesday who were heading to protest outside the Chinese embassy against the human rights situation in Tibet, according to officials.

The protest coincides with China marking its 75th year of communist party rule, a protester informed reporters.

On Monday, Delhi Police banned protests and the gathering of five or more persons in central and bordering areas of the city until October 5, citing law and order issues.

Per an order from the Delhi Police Headquarters, Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has imposed the section 163 (previously section 144 of CrPC) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita in districts of New Delhi, North and Central, and all police stations sharing borders with other states.
