Britain and Allies Sanction Evil Corp Cyber-Crime Gang
Britain has sanctioned 16 members of the Russian cyber-crime gang Evil Corp, in coordination with the U.S. and Australia. Britain has imposed sanctions on 16 members of the Russian cyber-crime group Evil Corp in a coordinated effort with the United States and Australia, the government announced on Tuesday.
Foreign Minister David Lammy stated that the sanctions send a firm message to the Kremlin, underscoring that the UK will not tolerate cyber-attacks from Russia, whether state-sponsored or from its cyber-criminal network. Evil Corp has notably targeted UK health, government, and public sector institutions, according to official statements.
The latest sanctions include asset freezes and travel bans against key figures such as Maksim Viktorovich Yakubets, Artem Viktorovich Yakubets, and Viktor Grigoryevich Yakubets.
