In a major development, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been booked by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged money laundering case linked to the MUDA land allotment scam. Addressing the media, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh claimed there have been ongoing efforts from Delhi to destabilize the Karnataka government since day one.

Ramesh accused various agencies, including the Income Tax Department and the CBI, of initiating cases to intimidate the state administration. He asserted that the Siddaramaiah-led government will complete its five-year term and fulfill all guarantees promised to the people of Karnataka.

Earlier today, Siddaramaiah categorically denied any wrongdoing, distinguishing his case from that of former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa. He emphasized his intent to fight the allegations legally and clarified that the contentious land was a gift to his wife from her brother, with MUDA allegedly encroaching upon it. The Mysuru Lokayukta has begun an inquiry into the case following a court order to file an FIR and conduct an investigation against Siddaramaiah.
