Japan's new prime minister, Shigeru Ishiba, said on Tuesday he will tell his cabinet to compile a fresh package of measures to cushion the blow to households from rising living costs.
In a news conference, Ishiba also said he will carry over and push through the growth strategy pursued by his predecessor, Fumio Kishida.
