Japan's New PM Plans Relief Measures for Households

Japan's new Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishiba, has announced plans to introduce measures aimed at alleviating the financial strain on households caused by rising living costs. He also committed to continuing the growth strategy initiated by his predecessor, Fumio Kishida.

Japan's new prime minister, Shigeru Ishiba, said on Tuesday he will tell his cabinet to compile a fresh package of measures to cushion the blow to households from rising living costs.

In a news conference, Ishiba also said he will carry over and push through the growth strategy pursued by his predecessor, Fumio Kishida.
