Karnataka's former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai claimed on Tuesday that by returning the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site, current CM Siddaramaiah has further complicated the situation. Bommai spoke to the media in Hubballi, stating that the return of the site should have come earlier.
Bommai suggested that a High Court investigation would have resolved any doubts about Siddaramaiah's integrity. With the Governor's permission granted for prosecution and an investigation underway, Bommai stated that returning the site has now raised many questions. On Monday, Siddaramaiah's wife wrote to the MUDA Commissioner offering to surrender the 14 plots amidst allegations of a MUDA land allotment scam.
According to Bommai, the FIR's filing necessitates a thorough investigation. He added that while a Lokayukta probe is ongoing, the ED's investigation into the alleged illegal land allocation to Siddaramaiah's family reveals wrongdoing, contrary to the Congress's earlier claims. Siddaramaiah, meanwhile, insists on his innocence, distinguishing his case from that of former CM Yediyurappa, and vows to legally challenge the allegations.
