Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Tuesday stated his party, Republican Party of India (A), aims to contest eight to 10 seats in the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.
The RPI (A), part of the Mahayuti alliance that includes the BJP, Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar's NCP, is in seat-sharing negotiations with senior BJP leader Bhupendra Yadav, according to Athawale.
Athawale highlighted the distinct voter base of the RPI (A), emphasizing its support from the Dalit community and asserting the party's right to an equitable share in the election process.
