Under attack from the opposition over his alleged remarks, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's office clarified on Tuesday that he did not mention any specific place or region, nor did he use the terms 'anti-state' or 'anti-national activities' during a recent interview.
In a letter to the media outlet, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) emphasized the importance of an accurate representation to restore public understanding and prevent further misinterpretations.
The letter was shared with the media following controversy stoked by alleged comments on gold smuggling through Malappuram district, which had led to significant political backlash from the opposition.
