Strong Security Ensures Smooth Voting in Sopore During Third Phase of J&K Assembly Polls

Elaborate security arrangements have been established in Sopore city of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district as voting progresses for the third phase of Assembly polls in the Union Territory. SSP Sopore Divya D confirmed that everything was running smoothly with significant public participation.
As of 9 am Tuesday, the Election Commission of India reported a cumulative voter turnout of 11.60 percent for the third phase of voting in Jammu and Kashmir. Udhampur district saw the highest turnout at 14.23 percent, followed by Samba at 13.31 percent.
The polling kicked off at 7 am across 40 constituencies in seven districts and is set to conclude at 6 pm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged all voters, particularly first-time voters and women, to participate in the democratic process.
