On Tuesday, the Congress party made a fervent appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to turn out in large numbers for the third and final phase of the assembly polls. Rahul Gandhi reminded voters that their participation was crucial for self-respect and rights.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also urged the electorate to 'teach a lesson' to those responsible for stripping the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. The third phase is currently underway, covering 40 seats across seven districts, including the winter capital, Jammu. Over 39.18 lakh eligible voters are poised to decide the fate of 415 candidates.

'A single vote can change your destiny and ensure a brighter future, securing your Constitutional rights,' emphasized Kharge. Voting has commenced in 16 assembly segments in north Kashmir and 24 constituencies in the Jammu region, with the results set to be announced on October 8. The first two phases saw voter turnouts of 61.38% and 57.31%, respectively.
