As polling for the third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections progresses, BJP candidate from the Jammu North constituency, Sham Lal Sharma, noted that long queues outside polling stations signify the public's desire for change in J&K. Sharma cast his vote at a polling booth in Purkhoo Government School, Jammu, on Tuesday.

Calling the election the 'biggest festival of democracy,' Sharma expressed confidence that voters in Jammu province, including Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, and 11 seats in Jammu district, would break voting records. He appealed to voters to select the best candidates and described the poll as a 'decisive battle between nationalists and anti-national people.' He added that PM Modi has set a strong political narrative, generating enthusiasm towards democracy and the nation.

The third and final phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections began at 7 am today with 40 constituencies in contention. Among them, 24 are in the Jammu division and the rest in the Kashmir Valley. The polls will conclude at 6 pm. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the participation of women voters and first-time voters. PM Modi encouraged all voters to partake in this 'festival of democracy' in a post on X.
