Union Minister Jitendra Singh has declared the high voter turnout in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections as a direct outcome of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies, demonstrating true democratic mainstreaming in the region.
Criticizing former regimes, especially the National Conference and Congress, Singh accused them of misusing Article 370. This misuse, he claimed, deprived West Pakistani refugees, the Valmiki Samaj, and the Gorkha community of their citizenship and voting rights.
Singh praised Modi's government for creating a peaceful voting environment free from separatist influences and for strengthening grassroots democracy in the Union territory. He also highlighted the extension of voting rights to marginalized communities as a significant achievement.
