Record Voter Turnout in Final Phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections
The third and final phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections saw a voter turnout of 11.60 per cent in the first two hours, according to the EC. Voting is taking place across 40 assembly segments in seven districts amidst tight security. Over 39.18 lakh eligible voters are deciding the fate of 415 candidates.

The third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections reported an 11.60 percent voter turnout in the first two hours on Tuesday, according to data from the Election Commission (EC).
Polling began at 7 am in 40 assembly segments across seven districts, including Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara in north Kashmir. Over 39.18 lakh eligible voters are set to decide the fate of 415 candidates, including former deputy chief ministers Tara Chand and Muzaffar Baig.
A total of 202 candidates are contesting in 16 segments of the border districts in north Kashmir, with voting also underway in 24 assembly constituencies in Udhampur, Samba, and Kathua districts in the Jammu region. The highest turnout so far has been recorded in Udhampur at 14.23 percent, while Sopore noted the lowest turnout at 6.71 percent.
