The Congress on Monday criticized the Centre for the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) action against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, calling it an instrument of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's harassment and vendetta against political adversaries.
The opposition's attack followed the ED's booking of Siddaramaiah, along with his wife and others, in a money laundering case linked to a recent Lokayukta FIR.
Reacting to the ED's move, Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh accused the agency of being used for political vengeance, alleging that Modi was acting out of spite following a significant defeat in Karnataka in May 2023. Ramesh expressed confidence that the CM would be vindicated.
