Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Monday took oath as the Governor of Mizoram. Gauhati High Court judge Justice Nelson Sailo administered the oath of office to Nallu at the Raj Bhavan here.

Nallu, who is also the Governor of Tripura, will hold additional charge of Mizoram during the absence of the incumbent Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, who is on leave due to health issues.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, cabinet colleagues, Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama, Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha, and other senior officials. President Droupadi Murmu had issued a notification appointing Nallu to take additional charge last week.

Kambhampati, appointed as Mizoram's Governor in 2021, was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad for a lung infection on September 10. While his condition has stabilized, he remains unable to resume his duties, sources at Raj Bhavan noted.
