Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha criticized the opposition CPI (M) and Congress on Sunday, alleging that both parties spread superstitions during their governance. Saha made these remarks while addressing a gathering after watching the 114th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mann Ki Baat at Booth No. 20 of 6 Agartala Mandal.
During the event, Saha predicted a time when there will be no alternative to the BJP, emphasizing the party's commitment to public service and development. 'In the coming days, there will be a time when there is no substitute for the BJP, as our party always works for the people and for development,' Saha declared. He accused the CPI (M) of fomenting superstition over their 35-year rule and claimed the Congress had done the same. 'No one will be spared. Don't ever try to confuse the people--they have lost the support of the people,' the CM warned.
Saha highlighted the BJP's growing membership, stating, 'The BJP now has almost 6 lakh members. If we come out on the road, they will be nowhere.' He criticized the opposition's response during crises such as floods and COVID-19, contrasting it with the BJP's proactive efforts. He also recounted the violence during the CPIM and Congress eras, affirming the BJP's priority on state development. Saha lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the impact of his Mann Ki Baat series on public engagement.
'It started in 2014. We can learn so much from it. PM Modi, in advance, wished us well for Durga Puja and Diwali and encouraged us to live peacefully. He is our Pradhan Sevak,' Saha stated. He emphasized following Modi's initiatives like Swachh Bharat and Swachh Tripura Abhiyan, urging citizens to keep their areas and hearts clean. Saha also noted Modi's emphasis on 'Vocal for Local,' which has boosted the value of Indian products in foreign markets. 'India always strives for unity. We are blessed to have a Prime Minister like him,' he concluded.
