Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam took a jibe at Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, over his reaction to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah and Hamas. Krishnam sarcastically urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to avoid criticizing Gandhi, citing the latter's emotional distress.
Speaking to ANI, Krishnam remarked that Amit Shah should spare Rahul Gandhi from attacks as he is deeply saddened by the ongoing conflict. 'It is not right to attack him at this time,' said Krishnam, alluding to Indian traditions of not attacking someone in emotional distress.
The Congress has been vocally critical of Israeli actions in Gaza following the October 7 attacks by Hamas. During a recent U.S. visit, Rahul Gandhi condemned both the terror attacks and what he described as Israel's excessive military response. Krishnam's remarks came amid Haryana's upcoming elections, with both Shah and Gandhi addressing their roles and rhetoric.
