Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today lashed out at Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy for his remarks on M Chandrashekhar, the ADGP of the Lokayukta's special investigation team (SIT). 'Kumaraswamy doesn't know what he is saying. What's the connection between the KPCC office and Lokayukta ADGP Chandrashekar,' he questioned in response to Kumaraswamy's allegation that Chandrashekar had received a letter from the KPCC.
Speaking to reporters in Nelamangala, Shivakumar stated, 'I haven't been in Bengaluru recently as I've been traveling to Sathnur and Kanakapura. What can I say if Kumaraswamy remembers KPCC.'
Reacting to Kumaraswamy's claims that he possesses documents of alleged corruption involving seven Congress ministers, Shivakumar challenged him to release the purported documents. 'I haven't even seen or met Chandrashekar; I don't know what he's talking about,' he added. On Saturday, Kumaraswamy lambasted the Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government over the alleged MUDA scam, accusing the administration of unethical practices, including filing FIRs and arresting dissenters. Kumaraswamy claimed the state government is attempting to implicate him. 'The CM and his cabinet are trying to firefight the MUDA scam by filing FIRs and arresting opponents, yet no FIR was filed for 48 hours in Siddaramaiah's case despite a directive. This government, including the Home Minister, are conspiring against me, holding meetings with top officials and ministers to plot against me,' he alleged. Addressing BJP MP Sudhakar's statements about separating Solur from Magadi taluk and adding it to Nelamangala taluk, Shivakumar said, 'Congress MLA Srinivas has been pursuing this with the Chief Minister for the past year. All credit for any development in Nelamangala belongs to Srinivas. Sudhakar's public statements are merely attempts to claim credit.'
