Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared on Sunday that he will not 'back down' in the face of allegations regarding the MUDA scam, asserting that his 'conscience will not be shaken' as long as he has public support. Speaking at an event in Ashokapuram, Mysore, Siddaramaiah stated, 'You might try to trouble me politically for a couple of months, but I will not back down. My conscience is clear, and as long as I have the people's support, I will not be shaken.'

This statement follows the filing of an FIR by the Lokayukta Police against Siddaramaiah and others in connection with the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment scam. The FIR, filed by the Mysuru Lokayukta, includes various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) such as 351, 420, 340, 09, and 120B. It lists CM Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law, and others as accused, alleging that MUDA illegally allotted 14 sites to Siddaramaiah's wife in a prime location in Mysuru city.

In response to the allegations, the BJP has aggressively criticized the Congress party, accusing it of supporting 'corrupt' leaders and demanding CM Siddaramaiah's resignation. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah inaugurated several significant development projects during the event. He announced the allocation of 0.5 guntas of land each to 245 betel leaf farmers and the construction of new gyms, community halls, and commercial complexes in Doddagaradi and Chikkagaradi. A government-model primary school renovation was also launched.

He assured the Ashokapuram residents that the government is committed to funding essential development activities and directed district-in-charge minister HC Mahadevappa to prepare a comprehensive list of projects. Siddaramaiah reaffirmed the government's dedication to social justice and equal opportunities, urging the public to engage with Dr BR Ambedkar's teachings.

Further, the Karnataka CM highlighted that Rs 59,000 crore had been allocated to implement the five guarantee schemes in the Karnataka budget. He contrasted this with the national budget, emphasizing Karnataka's more equitable approach. Siddaramaiah assured that, despite opposition parties' false propaganda, these schemes will continue to benefit all communities without discrimination.

The event was attended by Karnataka Minister HC Mahadevappa, MLA Srivatsa, MLC Dr Timmaiah, and other dignitaries. (ANI)
