By Toshi Mandola. In a significant political development, sources revealed the confirmation of an alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), and Janata Dal United (JDU) for the upcoming Jharkhand elections. A formal announcement is expected post-Pitru Paksha. The seat-sharing agreement allocates 68 seats to the BJP, 11 to AJSU, and 2 to JDU. This decision emerged from a late-night meeting at Union Home Minister Amit Shah's residence, attended by key leaders including Jharkhand BJP election co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma, AJSU leader Sudesh Mahato, and BJP's Nishikant Dubey.

Speaking to ANI, BJP Jharkhand incharge Laxmikant Bajpai asserted the alliance's strength, dismissing any misconceptions held by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Bajpai emphasized the public's inclination towards change and underscored the BJP's readiness to lead the state alongside its NDA partners. He highlighted the alliance's longstanding history and commitment to addressing critical issues neglected by Soren's administration.

Bajpai criticized the current government's inaction on pressing matters such as infiltration and conversion, promising stringent measures once the BJP assumes power. He reassured that addressing challenges faced by the common man and identifying anti-national elements would be top priorities. Bajpai also welcomed Champai Soren's integration into the BJP, citing discontent under Hemant Soren's leadership. The national leadership would decide the chief ministerial candidate post-elections, with assembly polls in Maharashtra and Jharkhand slated for announcement next week, to be held after Diwali in November.
