In a fiery address, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge pledged to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, asserting he would not die until Prime Minister Narendra Modi is removed from power. Kharge made these remarks at a poll rally in Kathua district on Sunday after receiving medical assistance.
Accusing the BJP of running Jammu and Kashmir through 'remote control,' Kharge said the ruling party had delayed elections and allowed outsiders to dominate key sectors like mining and liquor contracts. He also slammed PM Modi for failing to offer meaningful governance and opportunities to the youth over the past decade, claiming the highest unemployment rate in 45 years during this tenure.
Kharge criticized the Modi administration for neglecting critical issues such as the high unemployment rate and the delayed restoration of statehood. He urged the electorate of Jammu and Kashmir to reject the BJP's 'deceitful tactics' and support the Congress candidate Thakur Balbir Singh in the upcoming elections.
