BJP national spokesperson Shezad Poonawalla attacked the INDI bloc on Sunday, alleging that the parties adhere to a 'son rise model' by promoting family members to positions of power, primarily serving their family's interests. Several BJP leaders also condemned the rise of Udhayanidhi Stalin as Tamil Nadu's deputy chief minister, arguing that it illustrates the 'parivarvad' and dynastic politics of INDI alliance parties.

Speaking to ANI, Poonawalla claimed that parties like DMK are not genuine political entities but family-run companies. He stated, 'It has been proven that DMK and INDI alliance parties are private limited family-run companies. This is the 'son rise' model. Leaders want their sons or daughters to take over. However, the party is experiencing a decline due to this focus on family rather than the nation, which only PM Modi prioritizes.'

Poonawalla further asserted, 'The INDI alliance parties prioritize family over the country. They neglect the sons and daughters of India, unlike PM Modi, who puts the nation first. This 'family first' policy rests on two pillars: corruption and nepotism.' He questioned whether Udhayanidhi Stalin's promotion to deputy chief minister was due to his controversial remarks on Sanatana dharma. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari echoed these sentiments, claiming that merit is overshadowed by lineage within the DMK.

The criticisms extended to concerns over the INDI alliance's focus on self-interest. Poonawalla contrasted this with PM Modi's call for young, non-political-background individuals to serve the nation. BJP leader N Ramchander Rao described Udhayanidhi Stalin's promotion as a demonstration of prioritizing family over national welfare. Stalin, previously the Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister, has also taken on the Planning and Development portfolio.
