National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah on Sunday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union government to pressure Israel to end the 'bloodshed' in Palestine and Lebanon.
Addressing reporters on the last day of the election campaign in Baramulla, Abdullah highlighted the recent killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, emphasizing that war seemed imminent in the region. He called for international leaders, including the Indian prime minister, to intervene and establish peace.
Omar Abdullah condemned Israeli aggression against Palestinians and demanded that the international community pressurize Israel to cease the killings, whether in Palestine or Lebanon.
Commenting on the security situation in the Jammu region, Abdullah blamed the ruling dispensation for the deteriorating conditions, citing increased militancy and frequent attacks. He also criticized the BJP for lacking development achievements in Jammu and Kashmir and instead resorting to blaming the NC-Congress alliance.
