In a defiant stance, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge pledged on Sunday to fight for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at a rally in Kathua, Kharge declared he would not rest until Prime Minister Narendra Modi is removed from office.
Despite feeling unwell during his speech, Kharge accused the BJP government of running Jammu and Kashmir through remote control. He claimed that the BJP only started preparing for elections after being urged by the Supreme Court. Kharge emphasized that the Congress party will continue to fight for statehood and better governance.
Further criticizing the BJP, Kharge accused the party of allowing external influences in key sectors such as mining and liquor. He also condemned Modi's tenure for what he called catastrophic effects on youth employment, citing the highest unemployment rate in 45 years.
