This attack is part of a series of strikes carried out by Israel in recent weeks targeting the Lebanese militant group's high-ranking members.

Earlier reports on Sunday from Israeli officials stated that another senior Hezbollah commander, Nabil Kaouk, was killed in a separate strike the previous day. However, Hezbollah has yet to confirm Kaouk's death.

The recent string of targeted airstrikes signifies a heightened offensive by Israel against Hezbollah, aiming to dismantle the leadership of the organization.
