The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is set to finalize its seat-sharing talks for the upcoming assembly polls by early next week, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole revealed on Sunday.
Leaders from the MVA, which includes Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP), and the Congress, will convene on September 30 and October 1 to cement their seat-sharing formula, Patole communicated to reporters.
'We are united in our decision to contest the polls as the MVA. There are no conflicting opinions on this matter. Discussions are ongoing,' Patole affirmed.
Taking a dig at the Mahayuti alliance, Patole questioned their leadership clarity, inquiring if they even have a chief ministerial candidate to present.
Addressing the Badlapur sexual assault case, Patole criticized CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis for politicizing the encounter of accused Akshay Shinde. 'No action has been taken against the management of the school where the incident occurred,' Patole alleged.
Additionally, Patole clarified that the MVA does not oppose the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana initiative as often claimed by CM Shinde. 'We plan to enhance it when we gain power,' he asserted.
