China on Sunday called on concerned parties, especially Israel, to immediately de-escalate tensions to prevent the West Asia conflict from spiraling out of control following the killing of Iran-backed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah by Israeli forces.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing deep concern over the escalating tensions in the region. The statement also included an advisory for Chinese citizens to avoid traveling to Lebanon due to increased hostilities.
China condemned any actions against innocent civilians and Lebanon's sovereignty, urging all parties, particularly Israel, to act swiftly to calm the situation. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed revenge for Nasrallah's death.
