Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge experienced a dizzy spell while addressing a rally in the Jasrota belt of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. He is stable now, with medical attention being provided, party leaders confirmed.
During the rally, which focused on paying tribute to a head constable killed in a terrorist operation, Kharge suddenly felt unwell and was assisted into a chair by colleagues, according to Congress general secretary Gulam Ahmed Mir.
The incident occurred as Kharge aimed to drum up support for Congress candidates in forthcoming assembly elections. Another rally was scheduled in Udhampur's Ramnagar, pending medical clearance for Kharge.
