An Israeli airstrike on Sunday morning killed 11 people in northeast Lebanon, including Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. This has led to heightened regional tensions, with both Hezbollah and Israel exchanging near-daily strikes since the conflict began on October 7.
Thousands in Iran protested Nasrallah's death, while Lebanon's military has called for calm. Fears of further sectarian violence are growing, as more than 211,000 people have been displaced from southern Lebanon, according to the United Nations.
Jordan reported a Grad missile, fired by Hezbollah, landed harmlessly in its territory. Egypt's President el-Sissi warned that Israeli actions could destabilize the region and called for a cease-fire in both Gaza and Lebanon to prevent an all-out war.
