Three to four foreign terrorists are holed up in a remote village in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, according to Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, Anand Jain. An operation is currently underway to neutralize them, Jain revealed on Sunday.

Following a terrorist attack on a joint security search party in Kog-Mandli village, which resulted in one policeman killed and two officers injured, security measures have been escalated in the poll-bound district. Jain confirmed that the injured officers are stable.

Despite the encounter, there is no confirmation yet regarding the deaths of any terrorists. Security forces continue their operations ahead of the final phase of assembly polls to ensure a violence-free voting process in all affected districts.
