YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has called off his planned trip to the Tirupati Lord Venkateshwara Temple, sources close to him disclosed on Friday.

The widely anticipated Tirumala tour was initially announced as part of YSRCP's call for prayers in temples, aimed at addressing TDP leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's allegations about the quality of Tirupati laddus as a 'sin'.

While sources confirmed Reddy’s visit to the hill shrine was cancelled, the reasons behind the last-minute decision remain undisclosed. The cancellation comes amid demands from NDA allies in Andhra Pradesh for Reddy to declare his faith before visiting the temple.

In a press conference, Reddy stated that his religion is well-known and he has visited the Tirumala temple several times before becoming CM. Despite this, he noted that Chandrababu Naidu used the Laddu issue to divert attention from his administration's failures. Reddy emphasized that no substandard ghee was used in making the laddus during the previous YSRCP regime, rejecting Naidu’s accusations outright.
