Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia asserted on Thursday that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is in the advanced stages of liver cirrhosis after being hospitalized in a private Mohali facility. Majithia called on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and hospital authorities to publicly disclose Mann's health status in the interest of transparency.

Majithia stated, "Credible information suggests Bhagwant Mann is in the third or fourth stage of liver cirrhosis and must abstain from alcohol or consider a liver transplant. Emergency hospitalization was necessitated last night due to fluid accumulation in his lungs and stomach, leading to breathlessness, all indicative of liver cirrhosis." He accused the AAP government of attempting to conceal the incident, stating that only after he tweeted did the government release a brief statement attributing Mann's hospitalization to a routine check-up.

Majithia challenged the routine check-up claim, emphasizing the late-night admission and reports of an extended hospital stay. He stressed the importance of transparency, given Mann's constitutional role in the sensitive border state of Punjab. Moreover, Majithia pointed out that this isn't the first instance of Mann's hospitalization and urged clarity to prevent speculation. Despite government reassurances of Mann's condition, Majithia insisted on divulging specific details, calling for prompt transparency to mitigate public anxiety.
