Congress escalated its offensive against the BJP government in Haryana on Thursday, with party leader Rahul Gandhi criticizing it over 'unemployment' and problems faced by the youth. Meanwhile, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel noted that posters of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar are conspicuously missing from BJP's campaign.

Addressing an election rally in Karnal, Rahul Gandhi expressed confidence that Congress will come to power in Haryana, which goes to the polls on October 5. Gandhi assured that a Congress government would be inclusive and offer equal opportunities to all. He alleged that the RSS had 'captured' national institutions.

Sharing anecdotes from his recent U.S. visit, Gandhi said around 20 people from Haryana had to migrate abroad due to bleak prospects at home. He blamed the BJP government for the plight of these youths, forced to sell land or take loans for a better life overseas. He pledged that a Congress government would broaden employment opportunities.

Gandhi emotionally recalled seeing a child cry during a video call with his father in the U.S., vowing that the Congress would 'wipe the tears' of affected families. He accused the BJP of monopolizing resources and waiving off debt for select billionaires.

Notably, Gandhi reiterated his call for a caste census and highlighted the struggles of sportspersons under the Modi and Khattar governments. Former Chhattisgarh CM Baghel claimed that people in Haryana were largely disillusioned with the BJP and predicted a Congress landslide with an absolute majority.

Baghel criticized Chief Minister Saini for his six-month legislative inaction and questioned why Khattar's image was absent from campaign materials. Meanwhile, BJP had earlier claimed that Dalit leader Kumari Selja was marginalized within Congress. AAP's Sanjay Singh asserted that the power key in Haryana would be with Arvind Kejriwal, emphasizing basic amenities as their priority.

Azad Samaj Party's Chandrashekhar Aazad lambasted the BJP over poor civic amenities in Haryana, calling the living conditions shameful. As Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir gear up for elections on October 8, the political stakes are high.
