Home Minister Amit Shah declared that the BJP-led Centre will not allow even the "shadow of terrorism" over the hills of the Jammu region, as concrete measures and strengthened village defence guards have been implemented to counter threats.
His remarks come in response to an increase in terror-related incidents in regions like Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, Udhampur, and Reasi since April. Shah, addressing an election rally in Kathua, stated, "Let Pakistan do whatever it wants; we will not allow the shadow of terrorism in the Jammu region. We have fortified VDGs and armed youngsters in villages with INSAS rifles to fight terrorism."
Shah paid tribute to soldiers killed in recent ambushes and slammed Congress, NC, and PDP for their poll promises which he claims favor terrorists. He urged voters to support BJP for a celebrated victory across India, contrasting it with a potential celebration in Pakistan if the NC-Congress alliance wins. Shah also took jibes at opposition leaders and promised a special recruitment drive to further arm Jammu and Kashmir's youth for national security.
