Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attributed the BJP's setbacks in the 2024 Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections to the poor vote transfer from the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Fadnavis admitted that the BJP's 'core voter base' was uneasy about the alliance, although he claimed that 80% of the voters are now convinced of the necessity of these 'political compromises'.
The ruling alliance, which includes the BJP, NCP, and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, managed to secure only 17 out of 48 seats. Fadnavis expressed confidence that these issues would not recur in the upcoming state assembly polls.
