Former BJP MLA Vikram Saini, known for his provocative statements, has incited controversy once again. During a press interaction at the collectorate on Wednesday, Saini advocated for harsh measures against individuals accused of contaminating food by spitting or urinating in it. A widely circulated video shows Saini suggesting that 'the hands and legs of such individuals should be broken.' He emphasized strict actions, stating they should be jailed for 'corrupting the faith.'
Saini’s comments come in the wake of recent incidents where shopkeepers were allegedly seen spitting on food, and two men were arrested in Ghaziabad for mixing urine in fruit juice. Responding to these incidents, Saini welcomed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directive to mandate the display of names and addresses of food centre operators, proprietors, and managers to deter similar occurrences in the future.
Saini has a controversial history, having been disqualified from his MLA seat last year due to a conviction related to the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots case.
