Congress to Abstain from MCD Standing Committee Election

The Congress has decided to abstain from Thursday's MCD Standing Committee election, according to party's Delhi chief Devender Yadav.
The election is being held to fill the vacancy created after BJP councillor Kamaljeet Sehrawat was elected to the Lok Sabha.
Yadav told reporters, 'We have decided to abstain from voting in the Standing Committee election.'
The 18-member Standing Committee is the highest decision-making body within the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
