Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday criticized the Congress, claiming the party and its allies oppose peace in Jammu and Kashmir and aim to restore Article 370. Modi stated that reviving Article 370 would dishonor the sacrifices of soldiers who fought against terrorism. He addressed a rally in Gohana, where Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and other BJP leaders were present. Haryana's state elections are slated for October 5.
Modi targeted the Congress for its alliance with the National Conference in J&K, where polling has already progressed in two phases. He stressed that Congress does not favor stability in J&K and accused it of promoting separatism. He assured that the BJP had significantly advanced Haryana's industrial and agricultural sectors.
The Prime Minister lauded Haryana's role in sports and gender equality while mentioning the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. He emphasized the state's economic progress, attracting major companies, and creating jobs. Modi urged voters to return the BJP to power to maintain industrial growth and highlighted promises in the BJP's manifesto, such as monthly assistance for women. Voting for the Haryana assembly will occur on October 5, with results announced on October 8.
