Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to undermine communal harmony in the state for electoral gains. Speaking at a rally at Bhognadih in Sahibganj, Soren likened the RSS to 'rats' and claimed that both organizations were creating discord between Hindu and Muslim communities.

Soren specifically pointed out the involvement of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in these efforts. 'The RSS is invading the state like rats and destroying it. Chase such forces away when you see them entering your villages with 'handia' and 'daru' (locally brewed liquor),' Soren stated during his virtual address from Ranchi. He contended that these actions were designed to disturb peace ahead of the elections for political gains.

The Chief Minister further alleged that the BJP is fomenting hatred between communities by planning provocative incidents such as desecrating religious sites. He dismissed BJP's allegations of demographic changes in Jharkhand, urging critics to examine the demographic data of West Bengal. Soren also questioned the presence of Assam's Chief Minister in Jharkhand, pointing out the struggles faced by tribals in Assam.
