Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris leads Republican Donald Trump 47% to 40% in the race to win the Nov. 5 U.S. presidential election, a Reuters/Ipsos poll published on Tuesday revealed. The survey indicated that Harris has successfully mitigated Trump's former advantage in economic matters.

The poll, which had a margin of error of about four percentage points, showed Harris with support from 46.61% of registered voters compared to Trump's 40.48%. While state-by-state Electoral College results will ultimately determine the winner, current national surveys highlight significant voter sentiments.

Both candidates are intensifying their focus on economic issues, with Harris proposing tax breaks for families and higher corporate taxes, while Trump promises new manufacturing zones and increased tariffs on imports. The economic focus follows voter concerns about inflation and job security under the previous administration.
