The Delhi BJP leadership will convene a two-day 'Chintan Shivir' in Rajasthan aimed at strategizing for the forthcoming Assembly elections in the national capital, party officials disclosed on Tuesday.
Set to occur in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve on September 28-29, the camp will see participation from the extended core committee, which includes MPs, MLAs, and top office bearers of the Delhi BJP. The party has been out of power since 1998, last winning an assembly poll more than three decades ago in 1993.
A major focus of the retreat will be addressing the political challenges posed by the AAP, which has held sway since 2013, and discussing issues like polluted water supplies, poor civic services, and electricity bills that plague Delhi residents. Party insiders indicate that strategies will also target the concerns of slum dwellers, middle-class voters, and the business community, aiming to counter the effect of populist measures introduced by the current government.
