The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi is gearing up to implement its ambitious Rs 1,000 monthly honorarium scheme for women, named 'Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojna', post the Haryana assembly elections, officials stated on Tuesday.
The scheme, which aims to benefit around 50 lakh women in Delhi, is in its final stages with paperwork nearly complete. It is expected to be presented in the first cabinet meeting under Atishi's leadership, who took charge as Chief Minister following former CM Arvind Kejriwal's resignation.
All necessary formalities are falling into place. Finance, law, and revenue departments are reviewing the proposal, which will subsequently require cabinet approval and Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena's nod. The Delhi Women and Child Development Minister, Kailash Gahlot, confirmed that the budget for the scheme has been allocated, and the initiative will be rolled out before the Delhi elections due in February.
