Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Ambala Cantt assembly constituency, Anil Vij, on Tuesday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of misleading the public using Lord Hanuman's name. 'In the name of Lord Hanuman, AAP is trying to mislead the people,' Vij stated, highlighting that despite AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal receiving bail, the case against him continues. 'AAP has taken PhD in misleading people,' he added.
Earlier today, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi prayed at the ancient Hanuman temple in Connaught Place. Recently elected, she expressed her hope for AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal to return as Chief Minister after upcoming elections in the national capital. Atishi underscored the adversities faced by AAP, noting the ongoing efforts to undermine the party and its leadership.
'Offered prayers at Pracheen Hanuman Mandir, and Hanuman ji has been our 'Sankat Mochan'. For the past two years, AAP and Arvind Kejriwal have faced relentless attacks. Attempts were made to dismantle, suppress, and silence us, but Hanuman ji has consistently protected AAP, Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi, and its people. Today, I prayed for continued blessings so that Arvind Kejriwal may once again become the Chief Minister of Delhi,' Atishi told ANI. She took over as Delhi's Chief Minister on Monday, following her swearing-in on September 22, after Kejriwal named her as his successor.
In a poignant gesture, Atishi placed an empty chair next to the CM's seat, saying, 'This chair belongs to Arvind Kejriwal. I took charge as CM today, feeling the same pain as Bharat ji did. Like Bharat ji kept Lord Shri Ram's sandals, I will lead as CM for the next four months in Kejriwal's honor.'
