Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday took aim at the BJP's proposed women-centric scheme, dismissing it as an 'election jumla' (rhetoric). During a function in Chatra district, Soren highlighted the state's existing Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana (JMMSY) and criticized the BJP for not introducing any such scheme during their 20-year rule.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, serving as BJP's election co-incharge in Jharkhand, announced a forthcoming 150-point manifesto with a central focus on the 'Gogo Didi' scheme for women. Sarma claimed this new scheme would surpass the benefits of JMMSY.

On this occasion, Soren unveiled 592 projects worth around Rs 675.80 crore for Chatra and Koderma districts. He also mentioned writing to the Prime Minister to release the state's dues of Rs 1.36 lakh crore, arguing that with this amount or even its interest, the JMMSY could double its monthly assistance from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000.
