After Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi took over as Delhi Chief Minister on Monday, Congress national spokesperson Shama Mohamed criticized the ongoing disputes between AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mohamed contrasted this with Congress's peaceful relationship with the Centre during its governance of Delhi.

Addressing residents' issues, Mohamed said, "As a Delhi resident, Atishi must understand the challenges we face, from flooded roads and garbage in South Delhi to erratic electricity supply. These problems did not exist during Sheila Dikshit's tenure, and answers are needed."

Meanwhile, Bharat Ratna Bharnab Poonawalla, BJP's national spokesperson, called newly appointed CM Atishi a 'proxy CM', drawing parallels with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. This came after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal's resignation on September 17 amid legal issues, which resulted in Atishi staking her claim to lead the government.
