Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Congress party of failing to adequately support farmers, during his rallies in Tohana and Jagadhri in Haryana. Shah praised the BJP-led Haryana government for procuring 24 crops at minimum support prices (MSP), unlike any Congress-ruled state.
Shah also criticized the Congress for providing insufficient financial support to farmers during the UPA era. Drawing comparisons, he highlighted that the BJP government has increased the farmers' budget from Rs 22,000 crore to Rs 1.52 lakh crore. He also noted that paddy MSP has seen significant increases under the Modi government.
In a broader attack, Shah attributed corruption and 'gundagardi' to previous Congress and Indian National Lok Dal regimes in Haryana. He alleged that the Congress continues to struggle with internal conflicts and suggested that BJP's governance is more stable and effective. The Haryana Assembly elections are scheduled for October 5, with results expected on October 8.
