Punjab Cabinet Reshuffle: Five New AAP Ministers Sworn In, Portfolios Redesigned

In a pivotal reshuffling of the Punjab Cabinet, five Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs were officially sworn in as ministers on Monday under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's leadership. The new ministers—Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Ravjot Singh, Hardeep Singh Mundian, and Mohinder Bhagat—took their oaths at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.
Post-ceremony, Hardeep Singh Mundian expressed his gratitude, acknowledging the significant responsibility bestowed upon him. 'I am thankful to God and my parents... I thank CM Bhagwant Mann, who has given me this huge responsibility,' he said. Ravjot Singh also expressed his commitment. 'I thank God, Arvind Kejriwal, CM Bhagwant Mann, and the party's high command. I will fulfil the responsibility given to me with honesty,' he added.
Chief Minister Mann has strategically redistributed portfolios among the Cabinet ministers. Notably, Mann himself retains eight key ministries, including Home Affairs & Justice, and Sports & Youth Services. Harpal Singh Cheema is assigned to Finance and three other ministries, while Aman Arora oversees five departments, including New & Renewable Energy Sources. Baljit Kaur, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Dr Balbir, Harjot Singh Bains, and other ministers have also received new responsibilities, reflecting Mann's vision for an efficient governance structure.
