Union Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, calling it an ''anti-Dalit'' party and alleging it insulted Dalit leaders like Kumari Selja and Ashok Tanwar.

Shah also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on reservation, asserting that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can protect the quota system. He demanded an apology from Gandhi for comments made in the USA concerning the Sikh community.

Addressing a poll rally in Haryana's Tohana, Shah recounted past incidents of violence against Dalits under Congress rule and accused the party of corruption and favoritism in job allocations. He stressed that the BJP government had provided jobs transparently and had taken steps to protect Dalit reservations.
