Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is set to miss the campaign trail in Haryana today owing to health concerns. He has been advised to rest, causing him to cancel his scheduled addresses at election rallies in Ambala city and Gharaunda, Karnal district.
The rallies will now be helmed by state leaders, according to an official party statement. Kharge's absence comes at a crucial time as the Congress focuses on regaining control from the BJP, which has governed Haryana for the last decade.
The elections for the 90-member Haryana Assembly are slated for October 5, with results to be declared on October 8. The Congress aims to leverage the momentum to unseat the entrenched BJP administration.
