Sirsa MP Kumari Selja will campaign for the Congress and address a public meeting in Narwana this week, party general secretary Randeep Surjewala declared on Monday. This announcement follows the BJP's targeting of the Congress over rumored internal strife and Selja's reported discontent.
The 61-year-old, a prominent Dalit leader within the Congress, has been notably absent from the campaign trail, prompting BJP leaders, including Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, to speculate about her loyalty. Khattar even extended an invitation for Selja to join the BJP.
Despite these rumors, Selja is expected to campaign vigorously for Congress, with Surjewala stressing her significant role in the lead-up to the Haryana polls on October 5. Her involvement is aimed at quelling allegations of a divided Congress and unifying the party's efforts to secure a win.
