AAP leader Atishi, who took the oath of office on Saturday, assumed charge as the eighth chief minister of Delhi on Monday. The Delhi Assembly's session is scheduled for September 26 and 27.
Atishi has retained 13 portfolios she handled in the Kejriwal administration, including education, revenue, finance, power, and PWD.
'I will work for four months as the chief minister of Delhi like Bharat did by keeping Lord Ram's Khadaun on the throne. Arvind Kejriwal has set an example of dignity in politics by stepping down. The BJP left no stone unturned to tarnish his image,' she mentioned after taking charge. Atishi chose a different chair than the one used by Kejriwal.
Saurabh Bharadwaj will oversee eight departments, including health, tourism, and art and culture, the highest number after Atishi. Mukesh Ahlawat has been assigned the portfolios of labour, SC and ST, employment, and land and building departments. Gopal Rai continues with development, general administration, environment, and forest, portfolios he managed in the previous government. Kailash Gahlot retained transport, home, administrative reforms, and women and child development.
The newly formed Cabinet under Atishi's leadership has a comprehensive agenda of pending projects and new schemes to be rolled out in the coming months, ahead of Delhi's elections in February next year.
